Continuing its 150-year tradition of educating and training dynamic leaders, Valparaiso University — ranked in the top 10 by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Midwestern Regional College — will now set the standard for healthcare graduate programs with its Master of Science in Health Management and Policy – 100% online.
Via video-based lectures and an interactive virtual community, Valpo's program will allow health professionals to add graduate credentials with an in-demand specialization to their resumes in as little as 24 months. Graduate students will explore complex policy, business, management, and information issues with a focus on ethical leadership and process improvement.
"Unlike traditional business degrees, Valpo is the only graduate school that offers a blending of policy, management and values-based ethics with four in-demand specializations to choose from: Strategic Decision Making, Health Informatics, Forensic Health and Gerontology" said David Rowland, Ph.D., Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School.
In today's changing healthcare environment, Valpo's highly relevant and ground-breaking graduate program will give students the skills, credentials and expertise to lead the change in healthcare, in their careers and on a policy level, explained Adrian Marrullier, Executive Vice President of Enrollment Services and Marketing for Bisk.
"We are excited to be working with such a distinguished university and pleased to offer a targeted program that prepares students for leadership roles that include, Medical Care Administrator, Public Policy Director and many more," Marrullier said.
Valpo's graduate program is powered by Bisk, a leading facilitator of e-learning in the United States. Graduate students and instructors will communicate, share ideas and network online through state-of-the-art technology. Instructor-led audio and video lectures allow students to interact via computer, tablet or other mobile device anytime, anywhere. Students can discuss issues using interactive group tools and online discussion boards. No campus attendance is required, so coursework never has to interfere with work, family and other commitments.
Enrollment for Valpo's Online MS in Health Management and Policy degree begins Oct. 1, 2013, with the spring session starting Jan. 6, 2014.
